Barbara draws inspiration from spontaneity and the force of the instinctive, the approach is generous in impastos and rhythmical traces. Her work is a continuity along the path traced by classical modern art until nowadays, using traditional media (oil painting, clay, bronze, wax), thus indulging in the eternal quest for colour, tension and form. Born in Vienna, Austria in 1967, she currently lives and works in Belgium. Barbara has dedicated herself to painting and sculpture from early age on; formal art education at Belgian Art Academies as well as private ateliers (incl. J. Wurm and M. Lüpertz). Barbara has exhibited her works in Brussels (incl. solo expos) and also participated in group expos in Florida, London, Paris and New York.
